Finished 3rd in Surrey League, 1st in Bracknell League, and 2nd in Bracknell league playoffs

Blackhawks U16 Boys 38 v Spelthorne Atoms 26

Heat U16 CVL semi final - 21st May 2010

No slip-ups this time as the U16 Blackhawks powered through this playoff to a convincing win and a place in the CVL Final on the 28th May v Camberley Heat.

You can never be complacent against the Atoms and despite having a 16 - 9 lead at half time, after the 2 quarters of all players getting court time, the Blackhawks were on no mood to take off the pressure.

A perfect start to Q3, saw Tate Barber hit a 3 -pointer followed by 2 baskets on the fast break from James Allen as Atoms were split all over the place and Blackhawks had a 13 point margin going to the last period and Coach Okorocha in no mood to let this lead slip as nearly happened a few weeks ago in a similar situation against Phantoms.

Atoms got physical in the 4th, and had there best spell of the game, but made no impression for the Woking side to cruise to the buzzer for a 12 point win.

In the other playoff, Camberley Heat beat Farnborough Phantoms to set up the Final between the top 2 teams from the league stages of the competition.

This is the 2nd Bracknell final in 2 years for this team and having lost by 1 point to Kingston last year, the boys will want to continue their fine form and take the winners trophy this time. With Captain Elliot Farmer back from illness, and injured Alex Dean returning to wait in the wings, Blackhawks will be at full strength and in determined mood.

Blackhawks U16 Boys 27 v Spelthorne Atoms 43

Heat U16 CVL - 7th May 2010

Unbeaten in this competition and having already won the league, Blackhawks U16 went into this game with the intention of maintaining that record.

However, Atoms had other ideas and were looking to ensure a playoff spot for themselves. Blackhawks boys will be very disappointed that they never really got going and failed to show any of their promise from previous games.

Ironically, they now meet Atoms again in the playoffs on 21st May. Lets hope the score is reversed then!

Blackhawks U16 Boys 42 v Farnborough Phantoms 40

Heat U16 CVL - 17th April 2010

This game was certainly one where the old cliché "a game of 2 halves" could be used! - Blackhawks took the lead right from the tipoff and very comfortably controlled the first 2 quarters to be up 29 - 12 at half time in play and with 5 points added due to Farnborough being short of players, had a commanding 22 point lead at the break.

Coach Okorocha took the opportunity to give his bench players plenty of court time in Q3, and Farnborough took the advantage to win the period 4  - 10, but seemingly still had a mountain to climb to topple Woking's 16 point lead going into Q4.

Woking continued to make full use of the bench and Phantoms slowly chipped away at the lead, but with only 2 minutes to go the gap was still 13. Coach Okorocha decided it was time to hold the game and tried to substitute his starting 5 back on court. Unfortunately for him the clock wouldn't stop and Phantoms went on an 11 point unanswered run to get the gap down to just 2 points before the changes could be made.

Tate Barber held the ball with 2 seconds on the clock, only to have it quickly stolen from him, but luckily the buzzer just beat the Phantoms basket that would have forced overtime. Phew!

A great game played in good spirit by both teams. Both teams are already assured of playoff places, and the last fixtures of the season on 7th May will decide if they meet again in the final fours.

Blackhawks: Tuza(3), Hollinshead(2), Ingram, Barber(12), Lewry(5), Farmer(6), Jones, Allen(2), Little, Rundle, Foulkes(2), Jespersen(5)

Raiders clinch 3rd place in Surrey League

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 82 v Mole Valley Phoenix 81

Surrey U16 CVL - 11th April 2010

Although this was just the last game in the normal schedule, previous results had destined that it was actually a playoff for 3rd and 4th place in this years Surrey central venue league. It was a fantastic game of basketball played in a very competitive but sporting attitude by both teams.

The lead constantly changed during the whole game with neither side able to dominate sufficiently to take full command. The quarter by quarter results tell the story: Q1:19-17, Q2:20-22, Q3:20-20, Q4:23 - 22.

An early injury to Blackhawks Sam Brook meant that Coach Okorocha had just 7 players to work with through this fast, intense match, but they all played out of their skins to pull off a fantastic result.

Tate Barber and Dan Jespersen did most of the damage at the basket with 28 and 25 points scored respectively, but the full team effort was demonstrated by good points also for Alex Lewry (12), James Allen (11) and Elliot Farmer(6). Ross Jones and Morgan Little made a magnificent contribution in defence.

One player did all the scoring for Mole Valley, with T.Mustre amassing an impressive 44 points for his team.

The closing seconds of the game were incredibly tense for the supporters and players alike. With just 8 seconds left on the clock, Blackhawks were just 1 point ahead with the ball inbound at the Phoenix end-line. The ref called a 3 second violation against Blackhawks, but the game clock had been slow to start and only took 1 second of the game. Coach Okorocha appealed furiously to the refs to correct this error, but he was ignored and the game restarted quickly with top scorer Mustre moving down court for Mole Valley and shooting 3 on the buzzer. Although the ball went in the basket, the referees ruled that the shot had been after the buzzer sounded and the points were not counted.

Well done to all the Blackhawks players, who now look forward to the Bracknell Heat CVL where they are unbeaten to date and already assured a playoff place on 21st May.

Blackhawks: Little, Barber(28), Jones, Farmer(6), Brook, Allen(11), Lewry(12), Jespersen(25)

Blackhawks U16 Boys 59 v Stoughton Heat Girls 20

Heat U16 CVL - 26th March 2010

With no disrespect to the Girls of Stoughton Heat, the result of this game was never really in doubt as the unbeaten league leaders from Woking went about securing the win in comfortable fashion.

Apart from an uncomfortable Q2, where the boys looked as if they would rather be at home then taking part in this non-match, it was all one way.

Top scorer for the Blackhawks was James Allen with 14 points

Blackhawks even got an extra 10 points awarded as the girls were 2 players short of the minimum required.

Q1: 16-4, Q2: 4-5, Q3: 12-1, Q4: 17-10

Blackhawks: Tuza(2), Hollinshead(6), Ingram, Barber(5), Lewry(6), Farmer(2), Brook(2), Allen(14), Little, Eggar(6), Khan(2)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 92 v Reigate Falcons 31

Surrey U16 CVL - 14th March 2010

Well what can you say, just a classy performance by the Raiders, as they maintained pressure on the Falcons throughout the game and finished off well. After a totally dominating Q1 where the Blackhawks went 25 - 6 ahead, the end result was never in doubt.

Q2 was better for the Falcons and they kept the gap in the period to just 4 points, with the Raiders 23pts ahead at half -time 41 - 18.

The 2nd half was all Raiders again with them regularly going on runs of 8 - 10 unanswered points. Falcons are a young side and to their credit they kept on trying and will be better and stronger next season after this sort of experience.

All the Blackhawks players got on the scoresheet, with 5 of the 8 getting into double figures with Tate Barber just grabbing top scorer with 19 points.

Blackhawks: Little(4), Barber(19), Jones(5), Farmer(15), Brook(15), Allen(6), Lewry(11), Eggar(17).

Blackhawks U16 Stealers 41 v Sunbury Sonics 60

Surrey U16 CVL - 7th March 2010

The Stealers viewed this match against fellow league strugglers Sunbury as there best chance of that elusive first win. It certainly turned out to be there best performance, but 3 players getting into early foul trouble meant they just did not have enough to overcome the Sonics.

Starting Q2 11 points down, the Stealers went straight on an impressive 10 point unanswered run right from the off to reduce the gap to 1 point - they were right back in it. However, a timeout called by Sonics at this point sorted out their game and they rallied strongly with 12 points of their own to go in at half time 10 points ahead.

Q3 was evenly matched, but with top scorer Omere Tuza and big men Jake Cobbett and Lyal Khan all on 4 fouls, stand in Coach Elliot Farmer was limited with options to turn the game.

Throwing them all on court in the last period was the only option, but with 2 minutes to go and the game still even, both Tuza and Cobbett were fouled out. Sonics were now able to gain the advantage and finished strongly to flatter the difference between the 2 teams with a 19 point win.

Top Scorer for the Stealers with 13 points was Omere Tuza. Captain Alex Ingram had a good game with 8 points and the rest of the team all put in a great amount of effort.

Blackhawks: Andrews(4), Hollinshead(2), Ingram(8), Tuza(13), Foulkes(5), Iacono, Wildsmith(2), Gurr, Cobbett(2), Khan(5)

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 48 v Lanfranc 95

Surrey U16 CVL - 7th March 2010

The Raiders were well up for this game against last years Champions and so far unbeaten this year, Lanfranc.

The game started very tight and neither team scored for what seemed like several minutes, and it remained close with just 7 points in it at the end of Q1 with Lanfranc 20 -13 ahead. However, the writing was on the wall that Lanfranc's top player M.Don was in great form having scored 12 of his teams points in Q1.

Don went on to score another 14 points in Q2 to give Lanfranc a 15 lead at half time.

He went on to score an impressive 43 points in the game ( almost half of his teams total!) and was the real deciding factor.

Raiders top scorer was the lively Alex Lewry with 16 points, closely followed by Tate Barber on 15.

Raiders now meet Reigate Falcons on Sunday 14th.

Blackhawks: Little(2), Barber(15), Jones, Brook(5), Allen(4) Lewry(16), Dean, Jespersen (6)

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 75 v Sunbury Sonics 72

Surrey U16 CVL - 14th February 2010

Looking at previous results in the league, Raiders may have thought they were in for an easy game - but it turned out to be anything but, as a determined and improving Sonics would just not let the game go.

Stand-in Blackhawks Coach Andy Farmer soon had his worked cut out with only 7 players on the bench in order to keep them out of foul trouble, avoid tiredness, and yet still keep ahead of the chasing Sonics.

Having taken the lead early in Q1, Raiders never actually lost it, but could just not pull far enough ahead of Sunbury to make it more comfortable. The best gap they achieved was 13 points early in Q2 thanks to a 3 -pointer by Tate Barber, but they actually went on to lose the period and at half time the score was 40 - 35 to the Woking team.

The 2nd half was very evenly matched and the points gap was like an elastic band as Woking pulled away on to be pinged back by Sunbury time and time again.

The last minute of the game had both sets of supporters off their seats in what was a fantastic sporting atmosphere. Sonics had pulled the gap back to just 1 point and Raiders fans could be forgiven for thinking the worst was going to happen. A basket and a free-throw from Barber opened up the lead again to 4 points with 10 seconds on the clock. Sonics inbound ball found Hayward and he fired up a 3 pointer to bring the gap back to 1 point again and stop the clock on 5 seconds. However the referee called a foul against Hayward after the basket to give Raiders 2 free throws.

Barber stepped up to the line and sank both of them to the roar of the Blackhawks.

5 seconds ticked off the clock and Raiders sighed a huge relief!

Credit to both sets of players and supporters for a great game.

Raiders now need to learn how to finish off a game more clinically before they meet Champions Lanfranc in 2 weeks time. No doubt Coach Okorocha will be back to work on this in training.

Top scorer was Tate Barber with 26, followed close behind by Dan Jespersen on 24, but it was a great team effort with the win due to all the players, Coach and supporters.

Blackhawks: Little(1), Barber(26), Jones(4), Farmer(4), Eggar(10), Allen(6), Jespersen(24)

Blackhawks U16 Stealers 22 v Kingston Wildcats 109

Surrey U16 CVL - 14th February 2010

Sadly weakened by half-term holidays and other unavailability it was always going to be difficult for the 6 Stealers who turned up to pull off any surprises against a full team of Kingston Wildcats.

Having said that, there were moments in the game when you would have thought it was all square as the Stealers put together some great passing moves to get to the heavily defended Wildcats basket.

Gareth, Alex, James, Mark, Daniel and Jake ( who thankfully stepped in at the last minute) all put on a great gutsy performance.

Stand-in Coach for the day Andy Farmer did a fantastic job of keeping up their morale and focussing on positive aspects from the game. This was nicely demonstrated then when Kingston ( by now well ahead in the game) felt the need to impose a full-court press. A quick time-out by Andy told them how to beat it, and the press was soon shown to be very ineffective as Stealers then broke it time and time again to have a good period.

It is difficult to pick out just one Stealer for individual praise, but James Wildsmith stood out for his fantastic defence work and he grows in confidence from week to week.

Well done everybody, and hopefully have a full team against Sunbury Sonics in 2 weeks time.

Blackhawks: Hollinshead(4), Ingram(6), Wildsmith(2), Gurr, Iacono, Cobbett(10)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 65 v Merton Hawks 53

Surrey U16 CVL - 7th February 2010

Like the Stealers, Raiders also needed to bounce back after their defeat by Cobham last week and they very quickly showed that this was a game they wanted to win badly. They dominated Q1, ending it with a 3-pointer from Tate Barber to open up a 15 point margin and win the period 24 - 9.

The strong all round team play continued in Q2 as Coach Okorocha made full use of his bench. Barber and Dan Jespersen grabbed 5 points each and with a basket a piece for James Allen and Elliot Farmer, Raiders went in at half time with a comfortable 19 point lead 38 - 19.

Raiders extended the winning margin to 24 points by half-way through Q3, and Merton Coach Bobb called a time-out to settle his team. His words must have had the right impact as they went on to have their best period of the game and reduce the deficit back to just 16 points going into the last period.

The last period was evenly matched, with Merton continuing their improved performance and pressuring the Blackhawks grip on the game, reducing the gap to 12 by the final buzzer.

Top scorer was Tate Barber with 18 points, closely followed by Dan Jespersen with 16.

Overall a good win for the Raiders, who have only lost once and still have games in hand on the league leaders, but they face a tough run in to the end of the season

Blackhawks: Farmer(4), Jones(4), Little, Allen(9), Barber(18), Dean, Jespersen(16), Brook(7), Lewry(7)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Stealers 37 v Reigate Falcons 47

Surrey U16 CVL - 7th February 2010

Stealers bounced back after their mauling by Mole Valley last week to put in a good performance against Reigate Falcons. In fact, they are probably disappointed that they did not get their first win in what was a very evenly balanced match.

Q1 ended with Stealers trailing 9 - 16, with Lyle Khan grabbing 7 points for the Blackhawks.

Q2 saw the Blackhawks pull back the deficit to just 4 points, with Omere Tuza doing the basket work this time with an impressive 10 points. The score at half time was 23 - 27 to the Falcons.

Q3 was very low scoring by both teams and this is where Stealers lost their chance to really take the game by the scruff of the neck and open up a lead. As it was they won the period 7 - 2 to go into Q4 with just a narrow 1 point lead.

The last period saw the Falcons really turn it around and thanks to scorers Crenol and Babu they soon opened up their own lead. Stealers lost top scorer Tuza on 5 fouls and then had no answers to fight back again.

Overall the best performance by the Stealers who still look for their first win of the season against Kingston Wildcats on 14th Feb.

Blackhawks: Hollinshead(4), Ingram(2), Tuza(14), Wildsmith(1), Andrews(1), Iacono, Gurr, Khan (13), Majithia, Lickfold(2)

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 47 v Cobham 82

Surrey U16 CVL - 31st January 2010

Unbeaten so far in the Surrey League, Blackhawks U16 Raiders would normally have fancied their chances against the skilful, top-placed team Cobham, but due to injuries and unavailability they could only field 6 players for this important match.

This prevented Coach Okorocha from playing his bench to the full and became more of an exercise in giving players a rest and trying to keep them out of foul trouble.

The 6 Blackhawks gave everything they had, but they inevitably tired as they game went on against a strong Cobham bench of a full 12 players. Top Scorers Barber (20) and Farmer (13) also played the last quarter on 4 fouls each and with a knee injury to Dean, the odds against the Woking side soon became to great.

Q1: 13 - 22, Q2: 7 - 24, Q3: 18 - 19, Q4: 9 - 17

Blackhawks: Farmer(13), Jones(4), Little(2), Allen(7), Barber(20), Dean(1)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Stealers 23 v Mole Valley Phoenix 176

Surrey U16 CVL - 31st January 2010

The severe miss-match between these 2 sides was very quickly evident as Mole Valley scored at will against the young, emerging Blackhawk Stealers.

To their massive credit, the Woking players forgot all about the score line and played their hearts out to continue their development and take lessons on to the next game, where they still look for their first win of the season.

Blackhawks: Hollinshead(7), Ingram(2), Tuza(8), Wildsmith(4), Andrews, Iacono, Gurr, Khan (2)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Boys 41 v Camberley Heat 24

Heat Bracknell CVL - 29th January 2010

The Blackhawks U16 boys put in a good, workmanlike team performance to see off second placed Camberley Heat and retain their 100% record in the Bracknell CVL.

Blackhawks led from the start and never lost the lead once they took it early in Q1 and then slowly extended their advantage.

11 of the 12 players on the Woking bench got on the scoreboard, with Elliot Farmer just taking top scorer with 7, closely followed by Tate Barber and Max Eggar both with 6.

Blackhawks: Little(4), Farmer(7), Allen(2), Eggar(6), Dean(4), Jones, Jespersen(4), Barber(6), Tuza(3), Hollinshead(1), Ingram(2), Foulkes(2)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Boys 45 v Merrow Heat 13

Heat Bracknell CVL - 15th January 2010

The Blackhawks U16 boys looked a bit rusty after their extended Christmas and New Year break, but still had enough about them to totally dominate this match from start to finish and stifle anything that Merrow Heat had to offer in reply.

Top Scorer was James Allen with 10 points. Lyle Khan put in a good performance in his debut game at Bracknell and mopped up well under the basket to grab 8 points himself.

Blackhawks: Khan(8),Little(2), Foulkes, Farmer(5), Brook(8), Allen(10), Lewry(6), Eggar(4), Dean, Jones, Jespersen(2)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Boys 37 v Farnborough Phantoms 26

Heat Bracknell CVL - 11th December 2009

The 2 unbeaten teams in the Heat Bracknell CVL met in this game, and it was Blackhawks who maintained there 100% record to top the table at the half-way point in the season. Once the Blackhawks got in front early in Q1 they kept the lead throughout the game, but it was never easy against a determined Phantoms side that continued to press, and by employing an illegal Zone defence, stifle the Blackhawks offence to a large extent.

In a tight Q1, the Blackhawks starting 5 of Tate Barber, Elliot Farmer, Josh Foulkes, Max Eggar and James Allen started slowly but ended strongly to hand on a 4 point lead to their team mates for Q2.

Such is the strength of the Blackhawks u16 Boys bench that the second 5 on court of Omere Tuza, Morgan Little, Sam Brook, Alex Dean and Alex Lewry all got on the scoresheet in Q2, to extend the lead to 12 points by half time.

In Q3, the starting 5 returned to court and kept the momentum going to extend the lead further to make it an 18 point gap going into the last period.

Phantoms were not finished yet though and had their best period in Q4 and fought back well to win the quarter by 7, but the damage had already been done and Blackhawks did enough to win by 11 points 37 - 26.

Blackhawks: Tuza(5), Little(4), Barber(7), Foulkes(4), Farmer, Brook(2), Allen(5), Lewry(4), Eggar(2), Dean(4)

Blackhawks U16 Stealers 15 v Lanfranc 137

Surrey U16 CVL - 6th December 2009

The newly formed Blackhawks Stealers have not had a kind start in the surrey league as they have met all the top sides in the first half of the season. Today they met last years Champions Lanfranc in what turned out to be a very one-sided contest.

To their great credit they kept their heads up as best they could and continued to battle away. They continue to learn with every game and can look forward to better fortunes in the second half of the season in the New Year.

Coach Okorocha did what he could to keep his players spirits up and getting them to concentrate on getting their defence right and not worry about the score. This they improved on throughout the game and towards the end of the game, the offensive plays were working as well.

All players are worthy of praise for their efforts, but specifically the tireless Josh Foulkes who never stopped working despite the frustrations, and top-scorer Gareth Hollinshead battling away at point. James Wildsmith showed promise and hit 75% of his free-throws.

Blackhawks: Hollinshead(5), Ingram, Tuza(4), Majithia, Wildsmith(3), Andrews, Iacono, Gurr, Lawrence, Foulkes(3)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 88 v Spelthorne Atoms 65

Surrey U16 CVL - 22nd November 2009

Blackhawks u16 Raiders maintained there unbeaten record in the Surrey league this season with a sound win over Spelthorne Atoms. Despite being ahead throughout the game, Atoms are never a team to underestimate and despite the Blackhawks being ahead from start to finish it was not always comfortable.

In Q1 the Woking side opened up a 16 point lead only for Spelthorne to go on a run of 15 unanswered points to reduce the gap to just 1 by halfway through Q2. Coach Okorocha called a crucial timeout to steady his players at this stage and they got back into shape to end Q2 10 points ahead.

Points were traded evenly in Q3, but with Blackhawks extending their lead to the 16 point advantage they had enjoyed earlier in the game. The pattern was now set for final period and Atoms could make no headway against the determined Blackhawks who ran out winners by a comfortable 23 point margin, 88 - 65.

All the Blackhawks bench contributed to the win, but the outstanding performance of the day came from Alex Lewry, whose speed, agility and accuracy helped him basket a fantastic 34 points. Not far behind him was Sam Brook who with similar style netted 20 points of his own.

Raiders: Little(3), Barber(11), Jones(2), Farmer, Brook(20), Allen(5), Lewry(34), Eggar(6), Dean, Jespersen(7)

Blackhawks U16 Stealers 25 v Merton Hawks 106

Surrey U16 CVL - 22nd November 2009

Not the same joy as the Raiders for the Stealers who followed them on court at Chessington for the second game of the morning against Merton Hawks. Merton are going to be one of the serious contenders in Surrey this season and they were far to strong for the younger team from the Blackhawks U16 squad who had 3 players making their first club appearances.
The Stealers are ever-developing and will have gained valuable experience from this encounter. Despite what the final score-line may indicate, Coach Okorocha was pleased with the teams defensive performance and the un-tiring effort they put into the whole game. Jack Rundle hitting a 3-pointer in the last minute of the game typified this attitude.

Stealers: Hollinshead, Ingram, Tuza(5), Majithia, Wildsmith(7), Gurr, Iacono, Rundle(3), Lawrence, Foulkes(10), Khan

Blackhawks U16 Boys 62 v Stoughton Heat Girls 13

Heat Bracknell CVL - 20th November 2009

An easy game for the Blackhawks U16 boys in the Bracknell CVL as they came up against the Stoughton u18 girls. Despite the age difference, the boys were stronger and faster in all areas of the court. Despite the reduced time in the 1st 3 quarters due to an imposed running clock, the Blackhawks opened up a 38 point lead 44 - 6.

To their great credit, the girls kept their heads up and continued to make the effort and had their best period at the end scoring 7 points to the Blackhawks 18.

Every Woking player got on the scoresheet, but Top Scorer was James Allen whose speed and accuracy on the break earned him 16 points. Good performance also from the ever improving Omere Tuza who scored 8.

Blackhawks: Tuza(8), Ingram(4), Little(2), Barber(3), Foulkes(4), Farmer(2), Brook(4), Allen(16), Lewry(6), Eggar(7), Dean(6)

Blackhawks U16 Boys 49 v Camberley Heat 41

Heat Bracknell CVL - 6th November 2009

The two unbeaten teams in the Heat U16 CVL met on Friday night, and despite a scrappy performance, the Blackhawks boys did enough to grab victory and remain at the top of the table.

A nervous start by both teams as they took the measure of each other led to an incredibly low scoring 1st quarter with Heat just edging it 3 - 2. The 2nd quarter was also a bit scrappy as neither team could find their rhythm and Heat went into the half time break 4 points ahead at 20 -16. As Heat were one player short of the required ten, Blackhawks got a bonus 5 points in the interval to just tip the score in their favour going into the second half - and they never lost it again!

Free of the first half restrictions on player court time, Blackhawks Coach Chris Hatto put out a strong 5 in Q3 and they slowly started to pressure the Heat with James Allen getting 2 baskets on the fast break, Captain Elliot Farmer finding shooting form to hit 3 baskets on the drive in as many minutes, and lively young Gareth Hollinshead causing the Heat defence problems. The Woking side were now 5 points ahead going into the Final period.

The good work in the 3rd was continued in the 4th quarter as Blackhawks looked more like their normal selves. 6 points without reply from Tate Barber, Elliot Farmer and Alex Lewry gave the Blackhawks an 11 point lead and they controlled the pace for the rest of the game to cruise into a victory. No a pretty win, but a win none the less against their main rivals in this league.

Blackhawks: Tuza, Hollinshead(2), Little(2), Barber(13), Foulkes(2), Farmer(8), Brook, Allen(6), Lewry (6), Eggar, Jespersen(5)

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 121 v Blackhawks U16 Stealers 41

Surrey U16 CVL - 1st November 2009

This all-Blackhawks clash in the Surrey U16 league at Hinchley Wood, did not produce any upsets with the more senior team (Raiders) running out comfortable winners. All credit though to the newly formed Stealers who played some good passing Basketball and showed great promise in this their first real match together, with a number of players making their club debut.

Raiders narrowly missed out on the Club record highest score in a match of 126 ( set by the Flyers), but played some good basketball themselves and kept their momentum going throughout the game to record their 2nd century in 2 games in the Surrey League this season.

Scorers:

Raiders : Jones(6), Lewry(21), Little, Barber(23), Allen(10), Farmer(14), Jespersen(24), Dean(4), M.Eggar(19)

Stealers: Hollinshead(8), Tuza(3), Majithia, Andrews(2), Lawrence(5), J.Eggar(6), Foulkes(17), Gurr

Blackhawks U16 Raiders 108 v Kingston Wildcats 47

Surrey U16 CVL - 11th October 2009

The Blackhawks U16 boys team known as the Raiders got off to a fantastic start in this seasons Surrey League campaign with an emphatic victory against old rivals Kingston Wildcats. With Team Manager Keith Farmer standing in as a makeshift Coach it was going to be down to the boys to pull together as a team and deliver on the court.

Straight from the tipoff it was clear that the pace of Sam Brook and Alex Lewry was going to give the Wildcats problems and with Dan Jespersen in control under the basket, supported by the drive of Tate Barber and Elliot Farmer, they laid the path for a well-earned victory. Ross Jones, James Allen and Morgan Little added a great deal of defensive hustle to the Blackhawks who kept the momentum going throughout the game to never give Kingston a chance to get back.

Sitting with 83 points at the end of Q3, the boys had the century firmly in their sights and did it in incredible style by going on an unanswered scoring run of 16 points in 3 minutes to a huge cheer from their supporters.

All the players were magnificent in their attitude and can hopefully take it forward next to their next match.

There were plenty of points all round showing what a team effort this was, but top scorer was Tate Barber with 26 points

Blackhawks : Jones, Lewry(24), Little(4), Barber(26), Allen(6), Farmer(10), Brook(20), Jespersen(18).
